Nancy contacted us earlier this year while she was still in the process of writing her forthcoming book, The Humane Gardner:  Nurturing a Backyard Wildlife Habitat.  (Look for it in April 2017.)  She sought to gather as much information as possible about the habitat value of standing snags and downed wood.  We were delighted to discover that she, too, is not only an avid ambassador for dead trees, but for all wildlife.  We share her work and ask you to do the same.  By simply linking our personal and regional networks we strengthen our power to protect our natural resources.
